Monday Masters : Violet Kashi

This week it was up to our new member Angel Figueroa to nominate a photographer for our Monday Masters challenge. He picked an Israeli photog Violet Kashi. I was unfamiliar with her work so it fascinating to investigate and learn things from someone new.

Violet Kashi is a Tel Aviv City based, self-taught photographer, inspired by the beauty of life and nature, drawn to capture the fascinating everyday life moments and stories.

Violet has not been shooting for a long time (comparing to our previous Masters) but her photo gallery is filled with some extraordinary images. As well as doing street photography, Violet continues to produce beautiful fine art work.

What interests us however is candid imagery, everyday life moments and there is no shortage of that on her main website, check it out here.

Now I’m not exactly sure if this image is staged or not but I loved it from the second I saw it. The elements in this photo work very well I think. There is a good separation, foreground , middle and background figures. Everyone is looking in different directions, you can’t help but wonder about what’s going on. The image presents you with questions.

Remember, if you would like to join us in Monday Masters, all you have to do is pick your favourite photo from the nominated photographer and share on social media using the hashtag #MondayMasters.

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to check out everyone’s picks on Twitter at @_Streetchat
